November Guidance News
This month during Guidance our Bethel Students will we learning about Bullying and Conflict Resolution. Grades K-3 will be introduced to Kelso’s Conflict Resolution and grades 3-5 will be discussing what is bullying, the different forms of bullying, and how to handle a bullying situation. Students in grades K-3 will be learning about Kelso’s Choice. For more information on Kelso’s Choice see my link under Helpful Information.
I have also implemented a new program at Bethel. We now have a B.E.A. R Box in our school. The B.E.A.R Box stands for Bethel Elementary Always Reports Bullying. This is a locked box in our hallway that allows our students to report bullying anonymously. Of course I prefer our students to leave their names so I can talk to the person who is being bullied as well as the person doing the bullying, but I know that some students feel uncomfortable reporting bullying so we wanted to create a safe place for our Bethel students to report a bullying concern.
